When your sales leads have constantly targeted the corporate scene, sometimes a change in scenery can take your employees by surprise. This applies to janitorial businesses as much as any other kind of outsourced service company. However, perhaps it is the very nature of your services that make it likely for your sales leads to include those with homelier work environments.

Apartments. Condos. Suites, even. Each of these might require a resident janitor just as much as schools, hospitals, or offices. Basically, someone has to help clean the building. On the other hand, if your sales leads have done nothing but put your people into corporate environments, you need to be aware of what will go on if they are suddenly put so close to cleaning near people's homes.

  • 1. Work and home environments will always have differences – Some might argue that these cleaning services leads do not belong on the count of technicality. That being, it is not a work environment and your janitors are not necessarily housekeepers. The problem with that is due to the building itself. That is what caused it to wind up in your database of janitorial leads. These sales lead will not have your janitors cleaning people's homes but they will work right outside them. That does not stop the culture of a one-building neighborhood having an impact on your worker's experience. But regardless of that, culture is an important detail your sales leads must always cover.


  • 2. Most complaints may not come from initial prospects – Sure, the owner of the building has no problems at all with the deal you made. They were quite amiable to see you approach and learn that they were among your qualified sales leads. It almost sounds like a small dream come true for your salespeople. Almost. That does not mean other parties might have a say. This is something your janitorial sales leads might consider covering as well. You and your salespeople are not the only ones who might make a connection in a particular apartment or suite. Sometimes you might get sympathetic tenants who are far more likely to criticize the way you pay your own janitors.

  • 3. Beware of the things they will hear – If you think gossip office is bad, much less should you underestimate the buzz that goes around among apartment neighbors. Even if your past cleaning leads had several of the most casual working environments, barriers will still be lower at home. This time, asides from the feedback of both customers and their residents, your own workers must have a turn. Their thoughts on the place that you just sent them can also affect how you define future sales leads.


Many businesses define themselves by how they define their sales leads thus far. However, a changing the definition for cleaning services lead generation will mean more than just new kinds of sales leads. Sometimes your sales leads could mean a work environment that is the complete contrast to what your janitorial employees are used to.
